Anyone know where I can buy a wax based electric? I am looking for a pot of wax foundry electric can melt up to 5 kg of wax for both the manufacture of candles. (Hopefully with a temperature gauge and a valve for dispensing.) I make candles as a hobby and it is costly and time by using a water bath.
I am also my candles and many other use is a Presto Pot to melt the wax. Here are some plans on how to do it.

Pretty easy to do. You can easily adjust your temperature at the present. But I still use a candy thermometer to keep an eye on my time. I have a few of the smelter compound. One for each type of wax that I use. For example, one for my wax container, one for pies and another for my pillar candles. But you do not have to do. When I started using the Presto I did not even put a Sigot in it. I just used as a large double boiler. As I started everything set up I had my melt the wax.
If you really want to upgrade and spend money on a real melting wax, you can. But its not cheap. A place that sells them is Bittercreek Candle.
