Vintage Clocks

Vintage ClocksClocks antique fire hazard?

I have some straight from the 30s, 40s and 50s (they are all plug-in) I really want to use - I do not want to keep them in a closet somewhere! It was a very old cloth cord, others are newer vinyl-type cords. Some of these clocks are made of wood, some are bakelite. Is there a risk of these clocks serious fire?

You can check the wiring of your car by looking and folding. If it cracks, then it is dry and brittle and a small repair shop appliace to replace the strings for you. You do not need to call an electrician to repair these expensive items, they DO NOT repairing clocks and appliances. They HOUSE & BUILDING WIREING. NOT repairing small appliances.

you need to get this checked by a qualified electrician, he can change the wiring to use for you today, I wouldnt personally implicated in these if I was sure they are correct

I would not use one that has a cord fabric.

Another thing to check is the radiation hazard. My sister had a clock with a face painted radium so that it glows in the dark! Not healthy.
