Vertical Planters

Is there a plant or two different species of plants that grow fairly small and you can plant in a pot with other plants hollow? I need one that adds some height to the overall image of the depression.

Plants use baby or rooted cuttings and change them as they invade the space .....

Thre are many dwarf conifers, I suggest you visit a great garden center.
