MarketplaceValspar Granite Paint Has anyone used the Valspar paint that you add crystals of granite? I have a sample of gold with cinnamon that is my living room rug and I see it. The painting has the texture of sandpaper, and we believe it will help hide the flaws in the rock record. Everyone has tried? My wife and I used it in our large room with a chocolate brown and really like it. However, as the other answer above, small imperfections and patches of drywall even show up (may not be the dark crystals). If we were to do it again, I would have put gross mud on the walls first ... it would really bring out the brilliance because of all the angles. Oh, it is also nice because it is not very strong ... you will not notice when you click the right angle against the wall of lights, I look Nice as you walk by it. I did the roughing up several times ... there are no right or wrong. Just start spreading it on with a trowel and I always found that Messier you're putting on the better it sounds. Try to leave the trowel to jump into the mud, it has a nice effect. Report abuse My wife and I added crystals of granite paint, we used in a room. The effect is very subtle. You have to look twice to be sure you see something sparkling. Once you add the crystals you have a little time to use the paint. In this case, a wall is a color of copper metal and the complementary color on the other three walls, with the crystals mixed in. Posted on June 1, 2010.
