Our Own Candle Company

Our Own Candle CompanyFrom my own candle business?

My sister and I want to start our own business making candles. anyone know companies or wholesale stores to buy supplies, preferably in Ohio to not have to pay for shipping.

I do not really know anything about distributors from OH, but I get a lot of my supplies on eBay ... you can try it too. You can do a lot of what you would save on shipping through supplies at a much lower cost.

Also, I wanted to say. Do not let anyone tell you that you can not do that. I started my business last November and if it has not been easy, it was wonderful. I was really shocked by the people you meet in trying to climb into the process of selling candles for them. I do not know what your products are, but if you think you can do it, you can. I am an accountant who has worked all my life doing that and wanted a hobby. I started making candles for me and it is now a separate company.

I wish you all the best in your business. I recommend that you have a stash of savings to get through. I saved six months of starting my business and my contract accounting services on the side. I now have the company operates and will now return to work full time with my candle business is my second home. It is not easy at all. It takes a long time. Also, I would suggest you do a lot of tests ... that was a mistake I made when I started and now know better. Stick with popular flavors to start and add a little "weird" and to make yourself stand out.

I have listed my site which has a contact page if you have questions or just a friend in the biz.

Before doing that, see if there are any stores within 15 miles of where you live who already sell candles. If there is still a bank, yours is too much competition - you will not sell enough to support two people and pay rent, utilities, etc. candles are not an element of high demand such as video games or DVDs

I tried to make my own candles. Unless you have much knowledge about mixing and scenting candles are never as good as major brands. In addition, it was confusing and hard work. Instead, I found a multi-national company with proven experience and became a distributor. If you want more information, please send me an email. barbara@mycandlefarm.com

candle making is not easy and takes time. You should look in Mia Bella candle business.

I have a good list of major suppliers on my blog that just started making candles. Some are even in Ohio!
