Old Mirrors Need love? Stop blaming the mirror The diligent gardener gathered his gloves and tools, and went out one morning to till the land in his native land. Soon he was on his hands and knees, weeding, turning the dirt, put new plants in the soil and adding fertilizer. As the sun rose, he grew hot. The gardener has decided to get a glass of cold water to cool. In the hall on the way to the kitchen, he saw his reflection in a mirror. He was surprised and annoyed to have his hair disheveled, dirty clothes, and facial sweating. Forgetting his glass, the gardener rushed to the kitchen faucet, a damp cloth, and returned to the mirror, brushing as vigorously as he applied himself to his garden earlier. He cleaned and cleaned the mirror, but he was always so dirty and unkempt. It is armed with a solution of vinegar and fresh towels, but his thinking does not improve, even after another thorough cleaning. Suddenly, he had what he thought was a brilliant vision. "I'll just change the mirror. That should do the trick. " He pulled the mirror on the wall, and went to the attic to find a new one. When he lies, he put on the place of the old mirror and polished until shiny and spotless. To his dismay, however, his thinking has not improved, and now has added the dusty attic. "What is happening here!" he cried. "I even changed mirrors, but my thinking is not better. What is wrong with this darn mirror? This simple dish, it is easy, of course, identify the real problems of Diligent gardeners. If he does not like his reflection, he needs to take a shower, not put the mirror. Yet when it comes to our own thoughts, many of us behave exactly like the diligent gardener. We look outward and rail in the mirror instead of assets. Indeed, we blame anyone and anything other than ourselves from misery, pain, poor health, and general lack in our lives. A wise teacher named Jesus once discussed this very human tendency to look outward and focus on other people's problems instead of looking within oneself and solve our own. We do this as individuals, and we do collectively, often unaware that our bodies, our lives and our world are only mirrors that reflect who we are really back to us. Scary thought, is not it? Given the state of the world today, that thinking may seem at first sight a hopeless mess. We see (and often experience) violence, hatred, injustice, poverty, intimidation, dehumanization, pollution, tyranny. How in the world that I can always make a difference in all this? But appearances can be deceptive. Looking beyond the mirror and connect the dots spiritual. Maybe - just maybe - this world, collectively and individually, our lives are only thinking about us what is happening in ourselves that we prefer to ignore. In other words, if we change something in ourselves for the better, we can just change the world for the better, too. This is not like a small thing after all. By adopting the message of mirror instead of ignoring it, we can start rolling ball self-change. If we care to pay attention to it, thinking tells us that what is happening within us can be summed up simply as a lack of love. Despite our protestations to the contrary, we do not like, even surrounded by our families or in a relationship. And we feel especially loving. We may even suspect that our neighbor is love for idiots or dupes, even if we do not dare to voice that thought aloud. If we feel the changes we hope that love can make in our lives, and if we do not want to be laughed at us, then it is time to Wise Up on Love. It always begins and in the car. We can not give to others what we have not asked first for ourselves, love included. What k. Posted on June 8, 2010.
