Making Clay Sculptures

I need ideas on what to do a clay sculpture of hollow.

Take an old roll of paper towels and stuff it with newspapers. Then you can wrap clay around it and make a tree. Make sure you leave a hole or two for the hot air out.

I am a self-taught sculptor and can tell you that if you want your sculpture to have substance and not too fragile, you must:

1. build a lazy susan-to facilitate construction. Next, cut a 1 "chunk of pink foam to fit.
2. gross shape wire hanger, using tape for additional support. son extending down to attach firmly to polystyrene foam.
3. the bulk wire, if desired, aluminum foil wrapped around the wire.
4. using air drying clay (preferably Das Pronto), apply to the frame by small increments.
5. continue to refine / sanding / painting sculpture

A hollow clay sculpture can be anything you can imagine.

I made clay sculptures of people is a high fire.
