Indoor ThermometerWireless Thermometers - Mourning two pins and a magnet

I love all things wireless. Cables and son have always found a way to get wrapped between my feet. I broke my first thermometer around the early 90s, Crossgates, Leeds. It was winter and the weather forecast had predicted a particularly cold night. Being the weather buff / geek that I am, I decided to follow the outdoor thermometer cable as far from the window as I could, to save at least the night. A straightforward exercise, except that I had to leave the window open so as not to block the cable. Unfortunately I woke up freezing in the wee hours, and in a sleep induced haze, from the window tightly closed, cutting the wire enough to function outdoors never work again.

This began a pattern of activation, kicking and general abuse wireless weather station until the phenomenon has come to my rescue. Suddenly, the black wires, from the fireplace on the wall and the cream in the back garden of a thing of the past. thermometers, wireless weather stations and allowed me to close all windows on a cold night, if I want and still get an accurate temperature overnight. An important factor for gardeners, farmers and similar weather geeks.

A wireless thermometer (or weather station) is a simple device that lets you check the weather outside without ever venturing there yourself. You fit the external probe to any part of the garden or the house you like and sends it wirelessly current temperatures, and recent data on the temperature history of your weather station positioned inside, preferably near your favorite chair by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and a biscuit.

Technology moves quickly these days with all things wireless, and it is now possible to get a wireless weather station fully functional recording all aspects of weather wind speed and temperature at the humidity and pressure. They can also look good too, with more and more stations are cosmetic products in a variety of designs and colors.

There is a part of me is missing some of the more traditional thermometers so. My father had an old mercury thermometer shaped like a U with two pins and a magnet on the garage wall. Each evening you will move the pin with the needle to the top of the mercury column and the next morning when the stem has reached its highest point indicated the coldest temperature during the night. And then we press the barometer to check the air pressure. No more striking wireless! Well, times change and we must do.

Incidentally, I still have my first weather station with the cable cut. It records the temperature inside very well, but the outdoor exhibit is permanently blocked to -50 Celsius. I do not think we will see that the temperature, as in Great Britain until the next ice age.
