Howard Miller Furniture

Howard Miller FurnitureQuestion about Miller grandfather clock Howard?

I was in a store looking at a number of model Howard Miller grandfather clock 610-939 Majestic II. When I wanted to hear the chime, it seemed very low inside the store and I could barely hear. I asked if there was a volume knob and there is not one.

The person told me its because the store is too big and there are plenty of other furniture around it doesen't allow him his "full" tone to be able to be heard.

Is this reasonable? Is it fair to answer this person?

I have two clocks Howard Miller, a grandfather and a coat. The clock strikes actually stronger than the grandfather. Both are in rooms that have lots of furniture, I do not really think that impacts the strength of his. I would say that the pendulum can be heard up there all the way to my bedroom the other side of the house at night while I sleep and grandfather can be heard outside the room. My neighbor also a Howard Miller, but a different model of mine in the same house model I can be heard throughout his home and is much stronger than mine chimes. So I came to the conclusion that different models will chime in various capacities ...

this person just wants to make a sale. Here's a way you can check yourself. Either return to the store where it just opens, so there's very little background noise, even for late evening just before closing. Ask them to move the clock outside the Andorra business with a forklift so that you can challenge them to their theory. If they want the sale, they should have no problem moving it for you to check.
