Good ideas for planters herb garden? I have several types of herbs that I am planting this year, all for the first time. We have planted large gardens, in the past, and this year we set up a booth to produce in the front yard. I want to know a good planter for plants (or farmers) who should be portable.
Herbs need at least 6-8 hours of sunlight per day, more is better. In my planting area, areas of high intensity or the south west tend to work best. Depending on your space, your herb garden can be planted in either a container or directly into the ground.
If your garden space is limited to a patio or terrace, grass plants can be grown to several in a large planter, but shallow. A circular tower is 30 inches tall and can be purchased at most home improvement stores. If you like the look of multiple containers or live in an apartment, a half-dozen different pots of flowers can be combined to create a striking effect on stairs or on the balcony. Thrift stores and garage sales are excellent places to hunt for containers not match.
I used containers such as tin coffee pots, metal buckets and roasters. Containers shall be provided with drainage holes for plants to grow, for a metal container, you can drill some holes in the bottom three with a large nail and hammer penny.
For small yards, an incredible variety of herbs can be planted in a sunny plot, not exceeding 36 by 18 inches. Place river rocks in a circle to create a rock garden of herbs (photo # 2). Raised beds can also be constructed from pieces of stacked concrete blocks landscape, barrels of whiskey, or sinks tin.
Hope this helps.
