Hanging Water Fountains A hanging, uh, "fountain bird" for wild birds ...? I did not really say water fountain - but I have no idea what could be called something. Any other specific reason, it should be suspended? Most people get into a pond or just a shallow, excavated rock with water (even a saucer plant) so that birds can not only drink but splashing and swimming. It seems more refreshing for them. This link is a U.S. site that sells some that hang, but - so you could try. The problem with this model is that the birds have nowhere to perch and drink. Not only that, as you said, you live in the desert and I am afraid that the plastic can break down and become toxic to our friends. It is a big concern of mine. There are better there, but please be careful with the plastic in the desert heat. Enjoy :-) Not a drinker term pet is not used where I live. They are known as bird baths or bird feeders. I got a very nice combination hanging bath / charger at Wal Mart. I have a small tree in my garden of flowers and I wanted a smallish bird bath. This can be used for food or water. It comes complete with a wooden frame, honeycomb plastic and bottom. (Drain holes so moisture if used for food, it also has a plastic container that fits inside the wooden frame / is at the top of the mesh plastic honeycomb bees. It is water. It has 3 channels of black metal that are screwed into the wood frame with a hanger on top. This pretty, easy to clean and fill. This is not so great that He pulls down or breaks in the tree branch. was also very cheap. This is a quality product and is not adverse to plastic. Very durable. It's hot where I live and I have no problem. Hang it in the shade anyway to prevent the water from the intense heat. Is this completely bird safe. Posted on May 30, 2010.
