George Nelson

George Nelson was born in 1908 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA and died in 1986 in New York at the age of seventy eight. George Nelson is considered one of the factors in modernity with the Americans Charles and Ray Eames. George Nelson is known as the creator of beautiful things and practice.

George Nelson is a graduate of Yale University in 1928 where he was studying architecture. In 1931, George Nelson received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 1932, George Nelson won the Prix de Rome, while preparing for the Prix de Paris.

George Nelson was unable to find a large number of architectural projects, so he decided to turn inward on the design and product design and graphics.

George Nelson spent several years traveling throughout Europe while being based in Rome. In that time he met some of the modern pioneers. After several years of travel, George Nelson returned to America where he began to devote himself to writing.

In 1935, George Nelson became the first associate editor of Architectural Forum, which he continues to do so until 1943 when he became a consultant editor.

George Nelson was established in 1940, much attention to his work by several innovative concepts. "This concept has generated much interest from Herman Miller, so that in 1945 he applied to George Nelson's design director. Herman Miller himself himself was a watch designer and fine.

The role of design manager saw the start of many collaborations between the great George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames, Harry Berthois and many others.

The office was a young Italian student who was so impressed by the work done in the office he sought and obtained a student visa to work in Italy. The student's name was Ettore Sottsass, and later he continued to be a renowned designer in his own right.
