Fountain Ideas

Fountain Ideaswater bronze fountain ideas?

I need some ideas on what to put in the bricks, where the fountain is. She is naked with little grass. Also the bricks on the outside I have to paint a different color? http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/40016/2197644750036953017S425x425Q85.jpg

I just bought these concrete dividers Lowes in my circle lion fountain in precisely the way you do yours. (Great minds in the same direction). I chose to paint and seal their use Patio Paints, they break and begin to disintegrate very easily. If you have a large dog or simply those who are curious as mine, they can knock over and they will break (some of my DID). So husband dug a trench and concreted in so they can not fall. I used black paint as a base and patio Green Eucalyptus wiped it on with a damp cloth to give a patina (which goes with your fountain, too) They also have a bronze medal that you may no longer black to give a bronze age aspect. I chose to use river rock pebbles in the heart of the demarcated area around the fountain with a barrier against weeds under and used small urns with plants in them for the doggies could not reach. The barrier against weeds did an excellent job of keeping weeds at the time but one that shows through is shot to death with a blast of vinegar and dies. I used succulents in my ballot (the dogs do not like them and they need little water) surrounding peter pan dwarf plants (they give me a flower this time of year). I also found the seal edgers painted with patio sealer was a good idea if they are hit with the sprinklers every day. These borders come from China and they use a higher sand content than we do affects the water over time.

Oh pretty! Probably lay some plastic first to eliminate weeds, and lay about 3 "-4" of some good mulch ... probably half a bag and do it for this area. It looks like it could enjoy the sun all kind of plants / flowers as the sun is like to survive. Hostas and Impatiens can not handle full sun. You do not mention the region where you live so if it is farther north, they might be able to cope. Here in the Midwest, the summer weather becomes warm and dry.

You can try planting tulips (planted in the fall) around the inside perimeter of the Saint-Jacques, and petunias (planted in spring) in the middle, then something else against the statue ... something like the iris color who come each year.

This way, you'll have a flower garden almost constant. When plant is flowering ends, the next will begin two weeks later and so on. The petunias will remain in bloom all summer and fall.

I love this new product "Stepables. These are plants that tolerate foot traffic. I would use this instead of mulch. I feel like it attracts termites and you have to replace the mulch each year.

stepable between plants, you can plant perennials.

Yes ... Securing diaphragm against weeds .... (You can find it on any lawn and garden department)
then cover with mulch.
Dig enough mulch to pots of different sizes in ... then put some plants in them varied. Many colors ... but ... also use ornamental grasses and plants green brush to define the area.

I would dig down a bit to allow more pots to be planted prior to the membrane of weeds.

~ Or ~

ask a membrane against weeds ..... then fill with river stones (muticolored smooth rocks ).... then placed in deep pots in soil and plants of various plants.
