Faux Rock Waterfalls

Faux Rock WaterfallsBackyard landscaping ideas: fountains, waterfalls and garden ponds?

Nothing can give your garden a peaceful and soothing atmosphere more typical of the water. Whether ponds, waterfalls, or anything aqua-related, they are sure to create a fun, but relaxing splash to your landscape.

Water coolers
This particular characteristic of the water never fails to add a touch of elegance, romance, and serenity of the gardens. In most landscape designs, you'll find water fountains located in the center or any other relevant field. This is ideal if you want to maximize their beauty and they are certainly worth remembering.

Some fountains are models of DIY but they tend to be smaller and have effects much easier. height over water fountains naturally creates more specific effects, but they will surely be more expensive and may require professional installation.

For those who want to save energy, water fountains can be made to work only at specified intervals

Waterfalls
Although they are no less spectacular water fountains, waterfalls are often located on the side or corner of a garden. This, however, is entirely due to practical reasons: waterfalls, unlike fountains require foundation walls before they can operate. Artful rock piles are commonly used as a basis for waterfalls because they add to the natural look. It's your choice, however, if you want to use natural rocks or fake for your stunts. Either would do.

Garden Ponds
These elements are essential if you have either a water fountain or waterfall in your garden. After all, what better water fountains or waterfalls pool but in these ponds?

By creating a garden pond, the first thing you have to decide is whether to have them above or below ground level. Garden ponds with depths underground are more natural, but could be more costly and difficult to accomplish. They look exceptionally well, however, when used with waterfalls and especially when you have fish and other marine species that live in your garden.

If there is no aquatic animals in your garden, you should not make your pond too deep underground. It could not be more than a few inches and will always look good, depending on how everything works together. The base of your pelvis should not be flat and uniform. You could, for example, follow the natural contour of your garden and descending to create layers or decreasing levels of your garden pond.

Above ground garden ponds will be on the other hand, require you to build an external structure and you should make sure they fit with the theme of your overall landscaping. In most cases, people prefer to build walls wide enough for people to sit and maybe get their feet wet.

Plants and Animals
When animals and plants choose to add to your garden, the first thing you should focus on is their color and if they will complete the rest of your garden or not.

Goldfish and koi are perennial favorites for water gardens because of their bright colors. Lilies are commonly used because they float on the water, algae for their catchy size, appearance and shape, not to mention the fact that they are edible as well. Other edible aquatic plants include wild rice, water fern, lotus, duck potato, and chameleon.

Overall, remember that even the smallest part of your landscaping plans may affect the overall outcome to ensure that everything is full of others to maintain the scenic beauty of your garden.
