Contemporary Wall Mirrors

Contemporary Wall MirrorsCan anyone think of disadvantages in using a mirror as a kitchen backsplash?

Looked backsplash ideas and saw someone with a contemporary house that use a mirror backsplash for the kitchen. Is this a bad idea?

I try to stay away from the tile backsplash and want to go with something more "one piece", like. To facilitate maintenance. I know that this road will be more expensive if I needed to fix something behind the wall.

my sister has a sound very interesting and when his own! The question is to keep it clean! It seems she is always clean the darn backsplash and claims if she had to make the same choice - she did not! changes in temperature and mist splash, splashing some minor cooking or running water have much more easily than on a tile backsplash!
all I can say is that I'll never get one! I'm not fond of cleaning! lol

The mirror can be clearly stained so you can be a constant battle to keep it clean. Remember, it may be exposed to intense heat could cause discoloration of the backup mirror.

The mirror will show all dirt, and will be time to clean. If you do not use your kitchen to cook a lot, it would not be a big deal. One of the things I saw, I think that beauty is to use stainless steel as a back-splash. It can be cut to your backsplash area so you should be able to get a piece seamless (depending on the size of your kitchen is, of course).

I have a struggle to keep a bathroom mirror clean. I imagine a kitchen backsplash that is reflected, you should clean it every day if you want it to stay clean (if you cook / prepare meals or do the dishes at least once a day).

It has the potential for a great look - if it is kept clean. What do you think of something like the false metal / tin panels a backsplash? See here: http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryl ...

They come in different colors, like a pewter finish that might be more your style, is if you decide not to make a mirror:)

Good luck, hope it helps!

Do you really want to watch you the dishes? Each brand would be doubled and splash. Have you considered using Perspex sheet? Be transparent in your paint or paper to show through without being damaged and would not be more expensive than glass, much less in fact. Good luck.

Slamming something in it! Not easy to remove with the break
But I think the cooler iridescent a glance looks like a pearl. Search on a slide in case you need to fix something
