I want to buy some bedding yellow. I need to keep the pillows and accessories I already have, but they are shades of blue and brown. The emphasis is carpet rug shag short brown and lighter blue son. I want to throw in my international items as my wooden animals, collection of hand fans, etc. Do you think that all work?

Yes I think it sounds beautiful. Yellow always goes with the blue, no matter what shade it is. You may even want to paint your walls a cream / light yellow with a pale blue accent wall beside the bed. Pop in some accessories blue and yellow with what you already have and it will be great.
