Sounds like your firearm has not been built correctly, the noise of the chambers as theyre too big. The shells are inflated because of the pressure to push the projectile cartridge inflates.

How many shots does it take to make them grow?

If you talk fast reload after firing, the gun has been designed to use light and you get the barrel of swelling. I'm pulling my shells, they will not eject.
