How do I take care of a potted azalea indoors? One of my friends received an azalea pot, and she does not know how to care. Should she keep it moist, or let them dry out between waterings? Does it pinch the leaves and flowers? Any help is appreciated. Thank you
Sorry Wize, here in SC is roughly enough to toast and azaleas are glorious.
They like acidic soil that Wize said. Good source of cheap Epsom salts, sprinkle on the ground, the water in. Another azaleas bloom twice a year, others only once. Both put flowers the next season after flowering, prune just after flowers fade. Dead heading is not really necessary. They prefer to be in the ground, take full sun or partial shade. Water as a plant to another house.
1. Put your azalea in the coolest room where he will get a good light, but stay out of direct sunlight. And make sure the soil in the pot dries.
2 Remove spent flowers to prevent disease encouraging.
3. Water thoroughly and regularly. Since azaleas are acid lovers, there are plenty of peat mixed in the middle of the floor and encourages him to dry quickly. You may need to soak your pot in a bucket of water to ensure that the soil actually absorbs all the water it needs.
4. After flowering, an azalea may be moved in a bright window where it gets a little morning sun. Avoid direct sunlight warm.
5. Azaleas love cool weather, so if you can keep your plants in the 60s, it will grow better than in more heat.
