Antique Art Glass

Antique Art GlassWhat is the best way to remove wax from glass antique?

I collect art deco glass Cambridge / Farber Bros Chrome and I recently purchased a set of wine glasses for an auction. For those who do not know, there is a removable glass medallion inside a chrome holder and rod.
It seems that someone has to use them as candle holders. There's wax in the antique glass and chrome holders. What is the best way to remove this without damaging the glass?
I thought about the hot water, but did not want the wax to seal the sink.

Ice, or put them in the freezer for a while. I use my fingernails to scrape the wax.

Good luck!

The wax will not clog the drain if you do not drop into the water. It will not become liquid in hot water, it will be soft and pliable so. You can easily fetch water. If it becomes too soft to take all the pieces, dump in the ice and voila, solid wax. You can also put a strainer in the drain to catch the ones you miss.

Just put them in the freezer for a bit, then pot immediately when touched. I do it all the time, I Antique candlesticks which dripped on.
